Brain Injury Awareness Week (August 20 - 26)

Brain Injury Awareness week is a time to be open minded (pun not intended!), to the facts and changes that a brain injury survivor experiences. We are not our injury but we are also not the same. There are major emotional and physical changes that occur when parts of the brain are damaged.

Below I go through 5 prominent areas of change that someone who has sustained a brain injury may go through.

PART 1

ABI fatigue and how it differs from non-sufferers.

PART 2

How short term memory loss is exacerbated post brain injury.

PART 3

Near death brain injury changes the way you look at life.

PART 4

Brain injury is often referred to as a hidden injury.

PART 5

Heightened states of emotions and being irrational is common after surviving brain injury. Please share to spread awareness ❤️
